What is a sadaqah?
A sadaqah is a sacrificing something for the sake of Allah (swt) either on one's own behalf or someone else's.
The Bismillah Aid Sadaqah involves the sacrifice of a goat and is usually carried out within a week. The meat from the animal is distributed amongst the poor and those who need it the most.
Why give sadaqah?
There are many reasons:

- A sacrifice is an expiation for certain acts within Islamic Law
- A sacrifice is an excellent form of charity at any time
